The Secret Circle

Hey guys. So the first thing we’re gonna review is the CW’s “The Secret Circle,” yet another supernatural teen show in the same vein as “The Vampire Diaries.” Since this is a review, be warned that there will be spoilers. Not that you should attempt to watch this show in the first place.

So here we are in the year 2011. The vampire craze seems to be dying down, so what’s next? The CW is betting on witches, so it took up L.J. Smith’s witch fare, hoping to succeed where “Eastwick” failed. (Smith also created the book series that “The Vampire Diaries” is based on. Let’s not accuse the CW of cutting creative corners because that would be mean.)

Personally I don’t think witches are all that compelling since they’re basically wizards with baggage. And since Harry Potter is deader than dead, is this really a wise gamble? Well whatever the wisdom behind it is, this show ain’t a good introduction to witchery.
